The Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, together with the Faculty of Administration of the University of Ljubljana, University of Trieste and Agency for The Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) invites all prospective candidates to apply for the first Energy Law Summer School, which will be held at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana.


About the Energy Law Summer School

The Energy Lasw Summer School will be held on 12 and 13 September 2024 at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Law, Poljanski nasip 2, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The Energy Law Summer School is the first summer school of its kind in Slovenia, co-organised by the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). The program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and insights into the most pressing issues in the energy sector today.

Participants will engage with topics such as the integration of the European electricity market, gas crisis, and innovative approaches to decarbonisation. The programme includes compelling case studies that highlight various challenges and solutions. A special focus will be placed on ACER’s pivotal role in shaping the single European electricity and natural gas markets.

The Energy Law Summer School not only offers a unique academic experience but also provides valuable networking opportunities with leading experts and industry professionals. Additionally, participants will gain insights into career opportunities within ACER.

Who can Apply?

The Energy Law Summer School is aimed at graduate and postgraduate students, as well as researchers in legal and related disciplines who have an interest in or focus on energy law.

Students who successfully complete (i.e. pass a short examination) the summer school will receive two (2) ECTS credits.

What is the application procedure?

The number of participants is limited to 30. In case of more applications, a selection of candidates will be carried out based on CVs and letters of motivation.

What is the deadline for the application?

The deadline for applications is 31 July 2024.

What is the application fee?

Attendance at The Energy Law Summer School is free for all participants. Accommodation costs will be covered by the organizers. Participants should, however, plan to cover all other expenses related with attending the summer school.
